Complete a 10- to 12-page paper with the following two parts:

Part 1: Timeline Construction

  • Create a personal timeline of significant life events from birth to the present. Your timeline may be a line drawing or it may be outlined in an organizational chart or displayed in a chronological list.
  • Identify at least six significant events that you believe have impacted your development. Of these, at least one must have occurred during childhood, one during adolescence, and one during adulthood.

Part 2: Timeline Analysis

  • For each of the life events on your timeline, do the following:
    • Describe the life event as age-graded, history-graded, or non-normative.
    • Explain how it was significant to your development and why.
    • Explain how it impacted you cognitively, psychologically, and/or socially.
    • Explain how each event and associated change influenced your identity development through your lifespan.
    • Support your statements with developmental theory and integration of knowledge you gained throughout the course.

The Final Project will be evaluated according to the Final Project Rubric located in the Course Information area. Be sure that the Final Project is written using APA format.

I already have a rough draft of this paper attached – I just need the rough draft added to and perfected according to the guidelines and the below comments from my instructor. I also have attached a list of resources used throughout the course that need to be implement; I have a resources page as well in the current paper attached. At max, I only need 12 pages.

Instructor stated my life events were not clear – they are in order in the attached paper however here is the list – it is six life events:

1. The abuse of my parents and their separation at an early age

2. Going into the foster care system at age 14 a Freshman in HS

3. The birth of my son on 11/19/1999 at age 18

4. The marriage to my husband and son’s father on 6/23/02 at age 21

5. Going to college at age 30 in August of 2011

6. The death of my husband at age 36 on 12/11/16

For this Assignment, you were asked to provide a basic outline for your final project. Your submission should have included the six life events that you will include in your final project. Of these six events, at least one of each must have occurred in childhood, adolescence, and adulthood. In addition to identifying the six events, you were to include a brief (2-3 sentences) summary of why each of these events was impactful on your development. You did not need to include resources for this assignment – the purpose was to advance your planning for the final project. The following are your scores for this week’s application assignment:

 

Responsiveness: 6/6: For the most part, the paper adequately met the standard criteria as outline in the instructions for this assignment, initial reflections about influences on development were indicated. It looks like you are off to a good start. However, the 6 separate events were somewhat difficult to discern. Going forward, clearly specify events.

 

Content: 6/6 Some understanding, and application was demonstrated.

 

Writing: 2.5/3 For the most part, writing meets standards for this assignment. APA Headings should be used for easier reading and organization.

An abstract is not required. An introduction and conclusion are required. For the final project, you will need to elaborate more and indicate more specifically how each of the six events may have impacted your identity, cognitive and/or social development. Also, integrate the current literature and use developmental theory to align with life experiences and support statements. Be sure to follow the Final Project Guidelines.
